Bitcoin ETF-like product just hit the market—here’s how it works

Big firms are buying into bitcoin.

A new fund from investment giant VanEck and financial technology player SolidX Management gives big-money buyers a way to invest in bitcoin, a significant step for the largely unregulated and highly scrutinized cryptocurrency market.

The exclusive over-the-counter product, which began trading last week on an alternative trading system regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission, shares similarities with exchange-traded funds, but is not technically considered to be an ETF because it is not traded on a national exchange.

Brazil completes first blockchain real estate sale | ZDNet

The first ever real estate transaction entirely carried out via blockchain technology has been completed in Brazil.

Local construction giant Cyrela and startup Growth Tech carried out the sale under the project Notary Ledgers, which enables users to request and track notary services in a digital environment.

The service, underpinned by IBM Blockchain technology, enabled the reduction of timescales involved in the property sale process, which usually takes about a month, down to 20 minutes.

Shoppers want Amazon-brand prescription drugs, medical marijuana and cryptocurrency – MarketWatch

A new survey shows that Amazon shoppers would be open to more private-label goods from the e-commerce giant.

Consumers can buy almost anything on Amazon.com Inc., but they would like to be able to purchase more, including prescription drugs, medical marijuana and cryptocurrency, according to an Investing.com study.

Investing.com polled about 1,000 Amazon AMZN, -0.16%   shoppers, both Prime members and non-Prime members.
